Staycation at Hotel Jen Tanglin

9 June 2015

Choosing the right hotel is always a trying task, and with the enormous number of promotions, deals and programs out there, it can be downright overwhelming. But if you’re looking for a hotel in Singapore, you can always count on Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore. It was previously known as the Traders Hotel, Singapore and it is the first Traders property to rebrand globally.

The Hotel Jen brand is inspired by the virtual persona Jen, a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places. Fresh, friendly and fuss-free. That’s the genre of Hotel Jen. Located on Cuscaden Road with the Tanglin Mall almost connected and just a short walk away from both famous Orchard road and the serene Botanic Gardens and a short ride from the CBD, Hotel Jen Tanglin is the perfect place to stay to get the most out of the city.

The gym can be accessed 24 hours for all guests. They also have sauna, steam bath and whirlpool facilities located within the spa.

Hotel Jen Tanglin has various kind of unique wallpapers! From bicycle, gold fish to the national flower – Orchid.

I love how they pay attention to small details like the ‘Hello’ on this clothing rack in each room. It adds a quirky touch!

Pssst..can you spot a cute frog face?

The Jen’s City Survival Kit is very useful to explore the city!

When we arrived, the staff greeted us with purple backpacks called Jen’s City Survival Kit that include everything you need to explore the city from wet tissues, dry tissues, hand sanitiser, sunscreen, bottles of water, snackbars, city travel pass, city maps, food and sightseeing recommendations. As the part of Jen’s City Adventure program for those who stay from June 1 – July 31, 2015 (Booking period is June 1 – 30, 2015). The Jen’s City Adventure package includes room, breakfast for two, a city tour and city survival kit, late checkout until 4pm, The Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore package also includes a city sightseeing tour, which has a 24 hour pass with unlimited hop-on and hop-off rides on the hippo bus. In addition, if your name is Jen, Jennifer or Jenny, you can get a free recovery message! How cool is that?!

I stayed at their club room. One of the future concept rooms that the majority of Hotel Jen will be revamping to. Focusing on optimal space utilization, rooms will feature modern, interchangeable furnishings. The room felt homey, has a large King Bed and good storage. Natural wood furnitures, marble side tables, and artsy wallpaper behind the bed give it it more charm. The view from my room was just fabulous, looking out onto the the pool area in the hotel. All rooms equipped with smart technology including interactive TVs with multi-device enabled streaming and in-room check-out. Fast wifi connection is also included in every room and everywhere around the hotel!

The following morning we went down for our breakfast in the newly refurbished Club Lounge where we were warmly greeted by the staff. Club Lounge was so lovely and very impressive, creating a fine but cosy atmosphere. Expect a stylish and comfortable lounge that is suitable for work in the day with free wifi and relaxation at night. Located on level 17, it offers a stunning and unblocked view of the estate’s surroundings. They served so many great breakfast options from fruits, breads, pastries, cheeses, sliced meats, oatmeals, yogurt to dumplings. I have to say again it was the best breakfast I have ever tasted.

Staff of the hotel is the nicest and most helpful of any hotel that I have ever stayed at. Everyone was very polite and seemed knowledgeable. On departure we were chatting with Juliana the Social Media Manager, who again couldn’t do enough for us, she kindly offered to show us around the hotel and even bad worded us to the nearest bus stop. Thank you Juliana! 🙂 All in all this entire hotel is a wonderful experience. It feels like a real treat and something special to have stayed here. This is exactly what a hotel should be, we will definitely return to this hotel again in the future.
